TEXTILE WORKERS AT RISK

The Corona virus pandemic is having a serious effect on the very existence of textile workers in Bangladesh. Fashion manufacturers have cancelled nearly all contracts and the workers have received no salaries for March. As it stands, their salaries are very low and this situation will push them into further hardship. This crisis highlights the vulnerability of those at the bottom of the delivery chain in the fashion industry. (Source: SRF Echo der Zeit vom 5.4.20).
