Framework conditions for financing by companies

1. Independence of Walk-in Closet Switzerland must be preserved No obligations to the company arise from the financing. Walk-in Closet Switzerland will communicate the financing by companies via the newsletter and in the annual report, but will not advertise the company on its website or via the social media or disseminate the sponsorship.

 

2. The financing of companies must be compatible with the purpose of the association.

 

  • Purpose: "The purpose of the association is to promote charitable endeavours and social projects which promote the sensitisation and activation of young people in the area of clothing consumption and global clothing production. The association conducts awareness raising and public relations work within the framework of events in order to promote the discourse on more sustainable, fairer and solidarity-based conditions in global clothing production.   • Swapping clothes (swap, not shop) : No advertising platform (on website, events) for buying clothes. Educational mission or critical and fair consumption

Criteria for financing by fashion companies and companies in general

To ensure that Walk-in Closet Switzerland is only sponsored/financed by companies that are compatible with the values of Walk-in Closet Switzerland, companies must meet the criteria of environmental and social sustainability as defined by Get Changed.

Criteria for financing by fashion companies and companies in general

(based on GET CHANGED! selection criteria for brands)

The Fair Fashion Finder of GET CHANGED! lists brands or collections with very high social and ecological standards. Three areas are especially important:   


 

- Ecology: A fashion company that is exemplary in the ecological field reduces the environmental impact in the production of fashion and in the entire life cycle.

- Human rights and labour standards: A fashion company with social responsibility attaches great importance to treating workers in the production chain with humanity and respect.

- Transparency: A fair and responsible fashion company attaches great importance to transparency with regard to the goals and implementation of its own sustainability strategy.

What criteria must a brand/collection meet to be included in the GET CHANGED! database?

 

1. At least 70% of the offered collection meets our fairness criteria.

2. The company mainly produces collections according to our criteria

3. The company should fulfil at least one box in the matrix in the area of ecology, as appropriate certificates or alternative proofs regarding the ecological footprint. 

4. The company should fulfil at least one box in the matrix in the area of human and labour rights. If no credible certificates can be provided, this can also be compensated through transparency. In this case, however, an individual check is necessary.

5. The prerequisite for testing for inclusion in the database is the completion of our questionnaire.

6. The company provides copies of all relevant certificates or other documents that serve as proof that the collection has been produced according to high social and ecological criteria.
